Karen & Nick at Rookery Manor

In the warm

We turned up to Karen’s bridal suite in Rookery Manor on Saturday to find the glam squad of Hannah & Lauren from the Beauty Spot if full swing. They did a fantastic job (as always) of making everyone look their absolute best. Every bride just wants to be the best version of themselves, and Karen certainly was.

Karen chose to have 2 dresses, one for the ceremony, and one to party in. She found the ceremony gown in a bridal shop in Wales near where her mother lives.

Karen’s dad is sadly no longer with us, but he was there to walk her down the aisle. Karen had a bracelet made with some of his ashes. Her mother and her daughter also had pieces of him with them.

Karen’s lovely daughter Izzy was her bridesmaid. She showed maturity beyond her 10 years, and was an absolute delight to be around.

Nick also got ready at Rookery which meant we could capture some of the groom preparations too.

Nick was aided by his dad, his best man and his brother in law.

Once we had Karen in her dress, she couldn’t help but smile, she looked absolutely knockout.

Karen was ready in plenty of time, it was only the pesky rain that caused her to be slightly late in getting to the aisle.

The Girls

Nick seemed nice and relaxed and ready to enjoy his day as he waited for his girl.

As Karen made her way from the Manor House to the Rose Room for her ceremony, she paused in the door to re-arrange herself. I could not have asked for a better pose, what a gift!

Karen’s lovely mum, Patricia, walked Karen down the aisle towards Nick. I love the look Mum gives Nick at the top of the aisle. We need to run a competition for the best caption on that one, any suggestions?

The ceremony was lovely. Izzy was in charge of mum’s ring, while the Best Man had Nick’s one. The very talented Marie-France Riboulet https://www.facebook.com/harpmariefrance played the harp beautifully throughout the ceremony.

Our original plan of leading everyone out for photos and confetti was put on hold due to the rain.

I went up to the Desborough Suite to take photos of all the little details.

Mum, Patricia did all the table decorations. The gorgeous cake with the West Ham emblem was by the Icing Centre in Weston https://www.facebook.com/pages/The-Icing-Centre/221195484912978, and the flowers were by Shelia Dyson.

When it rains, we need to get creative. So we had a bit of fun with Karen and Nick, dodging rain showers and keeping warm in the Mansion.

During the meal, I had a little play with their wedding rings.

Speeches were after dinner.

After dinner, we braved the elements again for some night photos. I then helped Karen get into her second dress, which was a gorgeous champagne lace tea length dress. It was perfect for dancing.

The fantastic Olly Eade from https://www.facebook.com/EnhancedEntertainment/was in charge of the dance floor for the evening. He kicked the night off with a cake cut and then straight into the first dance.

We left this lovely couple partying the night away. We wish them all the very best.

Leave them a comment and a bit of love here so they know you read it.
