Jayne & Paul Secret Wedding

Married at Last

Married at Last

When Jayne got in touch and told us that she and Paul were finally getting married, we were delighted to be part of it. We have previously documented two of Jayne’s daughter’s weddings, and have another booked for June, so we really are part of the furniture. Then Jayne told us that the wedding was to be a secret from her four gorgeous daughters, well, we had to be there, if only to see their faces.

Saturday December 1st, we drove over to Eddington, very near the famous Wiltshire White Horse. Jayne and Paul were in the Hilltop guesthouse that belongs to the Three Daggers micro brewery.

Jayne had chosen a fabulous ivory top hat to finish off her lovely outfit. We made our way down to the Three Daggers in order to be there before her daughters arrived. This was the most nerve wracking part of the day for Jayne.

Ta-Dah

Jayne predicted each of the girl’s responses as they arrived one by one. Abby, who arrived first, screamed “I knew it!”. Hannah, couldn’t believe her eyes. Sophie thought she was a mime act, and lastly Leah thought she was dressed as Mrs Claus and couldn’t quite get her head around it. Considering all their other halves had kept this a secret for over a year is testiment to how much they love and respect their mother in law. It was an absolute honour to be part of this special moment.

The girls needed a drink to get their heads around this secret wedding. Jayne and Paul have been together for 19 years, and always said they wouldn’t get married. It’s just so lovely that they got to see their lovely mum so happy.

Groom and his best man
It's not all about the girls

This wedding wasn’t all about the girls. Paul, our lovely groom scrubbed up very well, and was promptly kicked out of the house! He, and his best man Ian, obviously used to being surrounded by women, went without fuss.

It was lovely to see these 4 gorgeous girls again. Our two previous brides, Abby and Hannah are in the middle. Leah, our next bride is on the left, and now the pressure is on Sophie (on the right), as we want a full house!

Leaving to get married
The time has come

It was time to finally get these two married. Jayne left the house with her sister Heather and the best man’s wife, Cathy.

Jayne’s sister Heather walked her down the ailse. They chose the song “You’re my best friend”, which was very apt.

The Ceremony

The ceremony was lovely and touching, with a hint of comedy. Abby’s husband Mark jumped up to provide some washing up liquid when the rings proved a little tight. It certainly broke the ice and any tension there may have been.

Ever the joker!

After the ceremony, the guests moved up to the Spa room at the Three Daggers, for canapes and drinks. We held Jayne and Paul back for five minutes.

We love the easy relationship Jayne and Paul have. They know how to make each other laugh and smile, and that’s priceless.

And then we had to make use of the fabulous views.

The guests enjoyed some lovely canapes while the staff at the Three Daggers turned the ceremony room into a reception room.

When I was photographing the rings I noticed the engraving inside which totally touched my heart.

We grabbed a quick night shot with Jayne (Paul had disappeared somewhere), just before they were called in to dinner.

The first dance required a quick outfit change. They put all us hug and shufflers to shame with a fantastic jive routine.

It was an absolute honour and a pleasure to be part of Jayne and Paul’s wedding. It was such a special day, filled with love and a lot of laughter. Thank you for having us.

I met Jayne and Paul at their Jive class and completely love them both. I’m so pleased to read the story of their surprise wedding. About time too some might say, I always assumed they were married 😂 wishing them both lots of love and happiness and as always ‘carry on dancing’ xx
